The Arabic courses are taught from a conversational and communicative approach; one that conveys basic notions of Arabic to help students understand this critical language. In Arabic I and II, students will be encouraged to conduct basic conversations in Arabic and will also learn the different aspects of Arabic culture, writing symbols, and pronunciation.

This course will build on the skills taught in Arabic I. The class will expand on developing reading, writing, and speaking skills. In addition to developing conversational skills, students will gain an insight and an understanding of Arabic culture. THe course will also examine some of the historical social issues affecting Arab societies.

Prequisites:  Arabic Level I or equivalent spoken/written competency in Arabic
