Principles of Modern Management

program image This online program provides students with a firm grasp of the fundamental principles of modern management, i.e., the basic concepts, processes, and best practices that every prospective manager must understand in order to ascend the ladder of leadership in business, government agencies, non-profit organizations, and academic institutions.

Each of the 26 courses in this program takes approximately three to six hours to complete. All of the courses are self-paced, so students can invest as many or as few hours per week as is convenient for their schedules.

  • Each course must be completed within 30 days on the calendar.
  • While enrolled, students can pose course-related questions to a subject matter expert and receive answers within 24 hours.

Who should take this program?
This program is ideally suited for newly appointed managers and for employees seeking opportunities for promotions as managers. Experienced managers who have become 'stuck' can use these courses to re-energize their careers by refreshing their grasp of the fundamentals. Human resource personnel and paraprofessionals seeking to broaden the scope of their responsibilities will find that this program provides them with a highly cost-effective path to success.

The courses are grouped into eight categories: communications, finance, human resources, innovation & critical thinking, leadership, management (narrowly defined), management information systems, and strategy.
