Computer Programming
Image for Computer Programming HUCE offers introductory and advanced courses in three of the most popular general purpose computing languages: Java, C#, VB.NET. These object-oriented courses teach students how to:
  • Create classes and objects;
  • Generate new classes and objects using inheritance and polymorphism;
  • Build class libraries;
  • Read/write text, binary, and XML data files;
  • Interface with databases.
No prior programming experience is required for the introductory courses.

Note: The courses in this program are taught by HUCE's course development partner -- Reed Educational Services/Idea Solutions ... Reed was recently acquired by Idea Solutions

This course provides students with a thorough introduction to the fundamentals of programming with Visual Basic. At the end of this class, students will be able to create Visual Basic programs that define variables and arrays and that use if statements, select case statements, for loops and while loops. Students will be able to define subroutines and functions. Students will be able to interact with objects on Visual Basic forms. This is class is good for students that have no experience with programming. Students will need a copy of Visual Studio. A 30-day trial version is available.

-CETK670-
Start Date = TBA ... End Date = TBA ... Days = n/a ... Times = n/a ... Cost = $229 -- Does not include textbooks ... CEUs = 3.2
Students will receive a thorough introduction to the basic syntax and structure of the Java programming language. Students will create text-based Java applications that define variables and arrays and that use if statements, switch/case statements, for loops and while loops. Students will define classes and use those classes to create applications. Students will learn to create new classes based on existing classes using inheritance. Students will create graphical applications and applets.
